India's EV landscape just received a significant power boost as Tata.ev, the country's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, rolled out its first wave of MegaChargers - kicking off a new era of fast, reliable and accessible public charging infrastructure. A total of 10 ultra-fast charging stations have been installed across vital urban zones and interstate corridors, reinforcing Tata.ev's aggressive push toward mass EV adoption and infrastructure expansion.
These MegaChargers, installed in strategic partnership with ChargeZone and Statiq, mark the first phase of a broader plan that includes the deployment of 500 such charging sites in the near future. Tata.ev: High-Speed, High-Impact Charging
Each Tata.ev MegaCharger features a minimum charging speed of 120 kW, with flagship sites offering as much as 400 kW ultra-fast charging capacity. The stations have been placed in areas of heavy traffic and high EV usage, ensuring practical utility for long-distance travelers and urban commuters alike.
Tata.ev customers will enjoy priority service, special tariffs with up to 25% discounts, and exclusive app accessthrough the brand's connected ecosystem. Select stations will also include onsite personnel to assist new EV users during charging.
Tata.ev: Nationwide Coverage Begins
The MegaChargers have been set up across five key routes and urban centers:
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Express Corridor
Three premium charging hubs now operate at Vadodara (Shreenath Food Hub), Vapi (Shanti Complex), and Ghodbunder (Hotel Xpress Inn). Positioned at calculated intervals of 150-200 km, the Vadodara station boasts 400 kW capacity and simultaneous charging for up to six vehicles - delivering up to 150 km of range in 15 minutes.
Delhi-Jaipur EV Corridor
To ensure smooth connectivity between Delhi and Rajasthan's capital, four chargers have been installed along the 270 km route. Locations include Gurugram (SS Plaza), Kaprivas (Hotel Old Rao), Hamzapur (Asli Pappu Dhaba), and Shahpura (Hotel Highway King), all spaced around 60 km apart.
Pune-Nashik Highway
One MegaCharger is operational at Rajgurunagar (Akash Misal House), providing a crucial mid-point for travelers moving between these two bustling Maharashtra cities.
Bengaluru - Electronic City Hub
A city-based MegaCharger at Monk Mansion in Bengaluru caters to the city's dense EV population, especially in the tech-driven Electronic City zone. The site includes cafes, restrooms, and co-working spaces - ideal for office-goers seeking quick top-ups during the day.
Udaipur - Tourist & Local Access Point
Ramee Royal Resort in Udaipur now hosts a 120 kW MegaCharger with four dedicated bays, surrounded by scenic comfort and urban convenience. The setup caters to both tourists exploring the city and locals making regular electric commutes.
A Vision Beyond Charging
Commenting on the launch, Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, shared,
"This is just the beginning of a nationwide transformation. The MegaCharger network is built to eliminate the barriers holding back EV adoption - primarily range anxiety and charging inconsistency. With this first batch in place, our vision to make electric mobility effortless and widespread is truly in motion."
Tata.ev's approach hinges on an "Open Collaboration" model-working with public and private partners, oil companies, and other stakeholders to rapidly grow India's EV backbone. The newly launched chargers are not only available to Tata.ev customers but are also integrated with the brand's iRA.ev app for broader ecosystem access.
