In contrast to the outgoing Harrier and Safari, which appeared quite similar from the front, the Safari exhibits some distinctive features compared to its 5-seater counterpart. The Safari boasts a broader grille, with unique inserts in the central air intake at the bottom. The most significant differentiator is the headlamps, positioned slightly higher and adopting a rectangular shape. Both SUVs share the C-shaped headlamp housing and connected LED light bar treatment.

While the profile of the Safari remains largely unchanged, it features new 19-inch wheels exclusive to this model. At the rear, a revised tail-lamp band with a connected LED bar adds a touch of elegance. The rear bumper showcases a cleaner design with rectangular protrusions at the edges, echoing the front-end style.

However, the interior of the Safari doesn't differ significantly from the Harrier, except for some variations in the central dashboard panel finish. Additional features include a ventilation function for the second-row seats.

Tata Safari boasts a range of premium features, including paddle shifters, knee airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, a power tailgate, hands-free tailgate open function, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a new 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, LED projector headlamps, connected LED DRLs, connected LED trail lamps, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a spacious 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a high-quality 10-speaker JBL sound system, front parking sensors, rear window sunshades, cooled storage, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting for an enhanced driving experience.

Mechanically, the SUV remains consistent with its previous configurations. It comes equipped with a 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, powering the front wheels. The vehicle features Terrain response modes (Normal, Rough, and Wet) and multiple drive modes (Eco, City & Sports). Meanwhile, Tata Motors claims that the suspension setup has been retuned to better adapt to Indian road conditions.
