Kia Seltos Facelift: Headlamp Reveals What To Expect
The Kia Seltos facelift has been a regular visitor in the spy shot world and while it gave away a few details on its journey until now, the latest images reveal radical new updates in the visual aesthetics. It is getting a new headlamp unit with vertically stacked LED DRLs, that look aggressive and sharp. While three LED units seem to be smaller, the outermost unit is longer and feels like wrapping around the whole module. This is a significant departure from what the headlamp looks like in its current form, and while the existing model is a charmer in itself, these new swanky headlamps inspire confidence that it will carry forward the legacy solidly.
While the overall shape might feel recognizable, the upcoming model is set to sport a noticeably different look. Expect fresh alloy designs, updated tail lamps, and reworked lower bumpers, all reflecting the brand's latest styling recourse. Hybrid Engine Could Finally Be Here
Why touch anything that's not broken? The new Seltos is sticking with its current engine options, but the real buzz is around a possible hybrid version. Borrowing tech from the Hyundai Kona, it could feature a 1.6-liter petrol engine working alongside an electric motor, delivering a combined 140bhp and 265Nm of torque. Kia is even considering an electric all-wheel-drive setup, using an electric motor to power the rear wheels. This move fits into Kia's bigger plan to roll out nine hybrid models by 2028, showing they're adapting to the evolving car market.
Verdict
The Kia Seltos facelift is going to better position the SUV with continuous evolution and yet another update. However, the biggest upside could be the hybrid set-up, soemthing that can assure those who are a little reluctant to diesel, given its uncertain future in the country. Also, with Kia's plans to introduce multiple hybrids by 2028, the Seltos makes the most sensible choice to lead that journey.
