VW Polo will soon be getting a special edition before exiting the country after serving the enthusiasts for a good 12 years. Launched back in 2010, VW Polo garnered a lot of attention because of its build quality, striking design and peppy engine options. Now, after successfully marking its territory as being the most driver-friendly hatchback for more than a decade, VW has decided to sign off by launching a special edition to the Polo in April.
In this special edition of the VW Polo, the car will most likely get cosmetic changes only. We can expect a new paint scheme, gloss black alloy wheels or a different alloy wheels design altogether, body graphics and blacked-out trims. Similarly, the cabin could receive badging of special edition along with contrast stitching that will give the Polo a sportier look.

Powering the Polo are two engine options - a 1.0L MPI that makes 75 bhp of power with a peak torque of 95 Nm. This engine gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and the ARAI certified mileage sticks to 17.74 kmpl. The more powerful, 1.0L TSI, three-cylinder petrol unit generates 109 bhp of power on tap with a maximum torque of 175 Nm. It gets paired to a 6-speed stick shift as standard along with an optional 6-speed torque converter. This motor returns 18.24 kmpl with the manual and 16.47 kmpl with the automatic.
VW Polo retails from 6.45 lakh to Rs 10.25 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. In other news, VW is getting ready for their upcoming sedan, Virtus and which will be launched in the third week of May. This sedan takes on rivals like Skoda Slavia, fifth-gen Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz.
