With the BS6 norms coming into action, Mahindra launched the 2020 Mahindra KUV100 BS6 in the market. In addition to the upgraded engines, the car also features a number of other changes. With this being said, is the KUV100 equipped with everything which makes it a practical urban car? Let' find out.
What's New?
With the new update, the Mahindra KUV100 comes with a more aggressive and bold front fascia. The car now gets with tweaked bumper design and dual-barrel headlamps which make the car look menacing. The side profile remains largely similar but the car does come with new 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear design of the car, however, is polarizing and may not impress everyone but with this being said, the KUV100 is one of the most distinctive cars in the segment.

Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
The 2020 Mahindra KUV100 BS6 is powered by the 1.2-L mFalcon G80 petrol engine that delivers 82 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torq.e This 1.2-L engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while there is no automatic variant on offer. The diesel variant too has been taken off the shelves. Talking about this engine, it gets a strong bottom-end while overall refinement could have been better. The ARAI claimed fuel economy of the car is rated at 18.15 KMPL.
The diesel KUV100 is no more on sale post the BS6 norms.
Exteriors and Design
With its bold and tall stance, the KUV100 looks quite distinctive and gets a great road presence. The car does get a short wheelbase and has a compact footprint which makes it extremely easy to drive in the city and in the narrow and crowded spaces. However, the side profile, with door handles mounted on the C-pillar might not be to everyones tastes. In short, the compact footprint, high ground clearance, and a spacious cabin make the KUV100 a great car for city usage.

Interiors and Features
The KUV100 introduced the concept of 6-seat layout in the segment and offers an extremely spacious cabin. Apart from the 6-seater configuration that is available in the base variant, the car can also be had in the 5-seat layout. The seats are nice and comfortable while the higher stance of the car makes ingress and egress extremely comfortable. The brand has also introduced a number of new features in the car such as 17.8 cm touchscreen infotainment system in addition to other features such as keyless entry, electronic AC controls, and more.
