2022 Maruti Baleno Gets 9 Touchscreen And More Features - Check Out

The bookings for the 2022 Maruti Baleno is now open at Rs 11,000 and this premium hatchback packs in a variety of modern features. It gets a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, first in segment Head-up Display (HUD) and more such features on offer. Let's have a look.

First is the larger 9.0-inch high definition touchscreen SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with surround sense powered by ARKAMYS. This will be a huge upgrade in terms of sound from the pre-lift version. We also believe that the top-spec variant will also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There's also a head-up display (HUD) that is the first in the segment. This feature allows the driver to concentrate on the road without looking at the instrument cluster. It displays information about the speed, temperature, time and more.

Other modern features like wireless charging, Alexa voice control, the 360-degree camera will be seen in the new-age Baleno. The latter is also another segment-first feature that is helpful for the drivers looking to park in tight spaces. Alexa voice command was first seen in the fifth-gen Honda City.

Maruti Baleno will get a new dashboard and upholstery design. Buyers will also experience the new flat-bottom steering wheel that is borrowed from the Swift. Features like automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, multi-function steering wheel will continue from before.

We do expect the new Baleno to come with cruise control, rear AC vents, rear armrest, leather-wrapped gear knob, cooled glove box, sunglass holder and more such features for the top-spec Alpha variant.

Mechanically, Baleno will be powered by two petrol motors - 1.2L DualJet with 89 bhp on tap and 1.2L with 82 bhp on tap. Both the engines generate a peak torque of 113 Nm A 5-speed manual transmission is made standard while the 1.2L non-hybrid petrol gets CVT as an option too.
