The 2023 Hyundai Ai3 Casper SUV has been spied on test yet again. This time, the Exter test mule has been caught in clear images. The upcoming SUV from Hyundai will be based on Casper (sold globally). It will rival Tata Punch in India when launched. Read more details about it below.
2023 Hyundai Ai3 Exter SUV Details
Last year, a test mule of Ai3 was seen sitting inside a parking lot. However, this time the test car is seen running inside the city limits. Looks like Hyundai is testing its final phase ahead of its official debut. Meanwhile, the clear images showcase that it'll be smaller than the Venue. Also, the visible design elements of it mimic the Casper model. But, we suspect that it will be smaller than Casper and use a different overall approach to design.
Speaking of the details, the 2023 Hyundai Exter will get H-shaped LED DRLs, projector headlights, & H-shaped LED taillights as well. The test car also has diamond-cut alloy wheels which means it is a suspected top-version. Along this, a tall-body design and a big sunroof are also visible on it. Additionally, two test cars were spotted out of which one is a base or lower variant. This version had steel rims with wheel caps and halogen headlights only. The rear-end design is tall which may lead to a generous headroom at the rear.
In terms of engine, Hyundai will probably use the 1.2-lt NA petrol & a 1.0-lt turbo-petrol. The 1.2-lt NA petrol is also seen at the current Venue. This powertrain shall be used unchanged on the Ai3 model. The 1.0-lt on the other hand will make it enough powerful to compete with other rivals like Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, & Citroen C3. Hyundai will offer the Ai3 with manual and automatic transmission options.
Verdict
Hyundai has recently launched its updated Venue in India. Additionally, the 2023 Hyundai Verna is also going to launch in March. With the Ai3, Hyundai will enhance its SUV portfolio in India; for which the maker is known. We're suspecting that the Ai3 model might debut in India by late 2023. Additionally, it'll be priced somewhere in the range of Rs 9-13 lakh.
