Suzuki is gearing up for the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, where they will unveil their latest concept models, including the highly anticipated new-gen Maruti Swift Concept. Indian auto enthusiasts can look forward to the new Swift, set to hit the market in 2024, making it a compelling addition to Suzuki's portfolio.

2024 Maruti Swift Concept Teased
The 2024 Swift retains the familiar design language of its current iteration but introduces significant stylistic enhancements. A prominent crease running along the car's profile, extending from above the door handles to the bonnet, is a standout feature. Additionally, the front end showcases a new grille design and chrome accents on the front bumper. The updated alloy wheels further enhance the car's overall aesthetic appeal.
It introduces several notable changes, such as a repositioned Suzuki logo, updated LED headlamps with inverted-L-shaped LED DRLs, blacked-out ORVMs with integrated cameras, a black-colored roof and pillars, and character lines running along the door panels. Notably, the rear door handles have returned to their conventional position, in contrast to the current-generation Swift, where it was housed in the rear window frame.
The interiors of the fourth-generation Swift have undergone a significant transformation to present a fresh appearance. Notable features include a probable Head-Up Display (HUD), a larger 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, and the inclusion of six airbags for enhanced safety. These features are also available in the Baleno, adding to the overall appeal and functionality of the vehicle.
Safety Features
The international-spec 2024 Swift will come equipped with advanced safety features like dual sensor brake support, adaptive high beam assist, a driver monitoring system, and a collision mitigation braking system. However, it's important to note that these advanced safety features are not expected to be included in the India-spec Maruti Swift.
Powertrain
Suzuki has yet to disclose specific details about the engine and transmission options for the new Swift. However, they have mentioned that the vehicle will be equipped with a "high-efficiency engine" while balancing performance and efficiency.
As for the current-generation Swift available in the Indian market, it is powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine capable of producing 90hp and 113Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). Additionally, the India-spec Swift is available with both petrol and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) options.
