Citroen India has jumped on the bandwagon of CNG vehicles to enhance the appeal of its popular C3 hatchback by introducing a certified CNG retrofitment kit, priced at Rs 93,000. This strategic move aims to boost both efficiency and affordability, offering a more sustainable and cost-effective fuel alternative without compromising the vehicle's comfort or performance. Now available through authorized Citroen dealerships, this CNG kit is specifically designed for the 1.2L naturally aspirated variants (Live, Feel, Feel (O), and Shine), promising an impressive claimed mileage of up to 28.1 km/kg.
The factory-tested dual-fuel system ensures seamless transitions between petrol and CNG, effectively addressing range anxiety and significantly improving overall running efficiency. With an estimated running cost of just Rs 2.66 per kilometer, you can expect more models to be available with this kit in a bid to expand on its CNG line-up.

Citroen India has been a sluggish seller owing it to its earlier phases where the models lacked some funtional as well as feel good features, taking a beating against its rivals. Pivoting soon after realising what the buyers wanted, the current iteration of models strike a sweet balance of price to the overall package on offer. While the Basalt also couldn't clock the initial number as the brand would've hoped for, the offers and discounts might just push them up for now.
