Kia EV5 Set for Global Unveiling on August 25: What To Expect?

Kia EV5: Global Debut Soon

Much like its counterparts, the EV5 will find its place on the modular E-GMP skateboard platform, which is set to lay the foundation for four additional electric offerings by 2026. However, Drawing inspiration from Kia's fresh design philosophy 'Opposites United', the upcoming EV5 SUV is anticipated to bear a strong resemblance to its larger sibling, the EV9. Kia's distinctive 'Digital Tiger Face' concept, a nod to the tiger nose grille, adds an intriguing touch to its aesthetics.

As the production-spec EV5 takes shape, expect the inclusion of substantial 21-inch tires and a sleek roof spoiler to enhance aerodynamics. Inside, Kia is expected to furnish a feature-rich environment, complete with a sweeping digital infotainment screen atop the dashboard. The array of choices will extend to various sustainable materials.

In terms of its powertrain, the EV5 is anticipated to feature a comparable choice to the EV6. This implies a potential 75-80kWh battery pack, offering over 482km of maximum range.

Given its dimensions, the EV5 aligns with Kia Sportage, possibly challenging EVs like Volkswagen ID.4. It will debut in China initially and expand globally. However, its Indian arrival isn't imminent; Kia India plans to mass-market EVs by 2025.
