Kia Motors India has broken another record with an amazing sales milestone. The Seltos has broken many sales records before but its the Sonet which now has become the most selling sub-compact SUV in India. Kia has sold over 9266 units of the Sonet in just 12 days after the launch. The sales of Kia Sonet is the highest in the month of September over all the other sub-compact SUVs. Kia Sonet impressed a lot of buyers with its striking looks and a long list of features.
Kia launched the Sonet in India on 18th September and it recorded over 25000 bookings till the launch. After the price reveal, Kia records over 9266 sales of the Sonet within 12 days from launch. Kia Sonet makes its entry in the top 10 sales list by demolishing the sales of the Venue and likes. Not only that, but the Kia Seltos has also recorded 9079 unit sales in September 2020. Including the Carnival, the September 2020 sales of Kia India stood at 18,676 units.

Most of the buyers who booked the Kia Sonet went for the GTX+ trims and the 1.0-litre T-GDI motor is in high demand. The 1.0-litre T-GDI motor produces 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque. Interestingly, Kia only offers the Sonet with 6-speed clutchless manual transmission and 7-speed DCT. On the other hand, its cousin - the Venue also offers the conventional 6-speed manual transmission. The Sonet also has two other engines in its arsenal - 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed AT. Moreover, the diesel AT gets a VGT and produces 115PS and 250 Nm of torque.
Kia Motors India is having a good time this year by breaking one record after the other. The Sonet, although priced higher over the competition, enjoys great interest among buyers thanks to its long list of features. However, we have seen that the sales figures of any car just after the launch are much higher than the regular sales figures. In typical fashion, the Sonet may also get fewer sales in the coming months if not the immediate next months.
