This will be a sub-compact crossover/SUV with dimensions somewhat similar to Kia Sonet. However, there is a chance it could be wider than it, as people often complain about the Sonet, that it is not suitable for 3 people in the second row. Up until now, we have seen multiple teaser reviews and test mules of Syros, and it is fair to say that Kia wants to offer a comfortable and spacious crossover in under 4 meter segment.

According to several media reports, it has been revealed that the automaker will offer a 1.0L turbo petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine. Both engines have been seen in the Kia Seltos, Carens, and various Hyundai models.

Now, the automaker has confirmed its launch date, set for 19th December 2024.

Verdict

Kia Syros is set to create a new segment, one we haven't seen until now. Usually, automakers try to make SUVs from small platforms, which are essentially neither SUVs nor crossovers, just beefed-up hatchbacks. So, this upcoming car is special and exciting in that sense. The choice of a 1.0L turbo petrol and diesel engine is great, as both will suit it. It will make its debut on 19th December, so stay tuned for more details.
