2020 Mahindra Thar Convertible with 20-inch Alloy Wheels - Looks Astonishing!

Mahindra Thar is in its heydays and the waiting periods are crossing the roof. Very few lucky people have got the deliveries and the demand was as high as Mahindra had to increase the monthly production capacity. The Thar and modification go hand in hand and though the new Thar comes with good-looking 18-inch alloy wheels, someone has gone overboard. Here we have the 2020 Mahindra Thar Convertible with 20-inch alloy wheels shod with offroad rubber.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar is the newest car in the market which is drool-worthy. That says enough about the looks of the Thar and there is not much scope left for mods. But some like-minded people at Velocity wheels have fitted 20-inch 5-spoke wheels on the Mahindra Thar Convertible. The wheels are finished in silver rather than the Saturn grey we get with the stock rims. However, despite both the stock and modified wheels having 5-spoke setup, the 20-inch ones look much sharper and sportier.

The Thar is the most capable off-roader of the lot and it needs some nice shoes to live over that tag. Hence, the owner has gone with the Accelera Omikron all-terrain tyres. The tyres offer superior grip and have deeper grooves for sticky and muddy situations. The rims are as big as the disc routers at the front look small and the absence of discs at the rear is even more felt. On that note, this is just the introduction to the first chapter in the book of Modifications of the Mahindra Thar! Jokes apart, we will see a ton of even more impressive modifications in future.

Sharing some details about the mechanicals of the Thar, it gets BS6-compliant petrol as well as an oil-burner. It gets a 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDI petrol engine that churns out 152 PS of power at 5000 RPM and 320 Nm peak torque between 1500-3000 RPM. It also gets a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that churns out 132 PS of power at 3750 RPM and 300 Nm of peak torque between 1600-2800 RPM. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission with 4X4 system as standard.
