MG Cars: Tackling Rising Pollution With Smart Cabin Tech

The introduction of PM 2.5 air filters comes at a crucial time when air pollution levels surge due to seasonal factors such as stubble burning and other regional factors at play during this time of the year. Until now, only the MG Hector featured a built-in air purifier with a real-time AQI display. With this rollout, MG extends the same protection to all its customers across the MG cars portfolio, regardless of model or price point.

PM 2.5 particles, measuring less than 2.5 microns, include harmful pollutants like dust, smoke, pollen, soot, and others, all of which can affect respiratory health. MG's filtration system can remove up to 95-99% of these airborne particles. In the Hector, for instance, the integrated air purifier employs an activated carbon filter to eliminate odors, allergens, and volatile organic compounds, while the AQI display provides real-time updates on in-cabin air quality.
In Line with Industry-Wide Focus On Wellness
This initiative positions MG alongside other automakers such as Hyundai, Kia, Tata, and Mahindra, who have introduced advanced air filtration features in models like the Creta, Venue, Safari, and XUV700. By offering the feature across its entire line-up, MG aims to make clean cabin air a standard feature rather than a premium add-on.
Verdict
With this move, JSW MG Motor India reinforces its customer-centric and eco-conscious approach. The standardization of PM 2.5 air filters not only enhances in-cabin comfort but also aligns the brand with global health and sustainability trends. As air quality becomes an increasing concern in Indian cities, MG's initiative ensures its customers breathe easy, literally and figuratively, wherever they go.
