KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • 8000 bookings completed in 24 hours, the introductory offer ends
  • 52.9 kWh battery with 449 km claimed range
  • Gets Level 2 ADAS, Vehicle-to-Load & Vehicle-to-Vehicle tech

MG Windsor Pro EV is off to a stellar start in India's electric vehicle space. Designed to offer a long-range, feature-rich driving experience at an aggressive price point, the Pro variant immediately struck a chord with buyers. MG had announced an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 8000 customers, and that mark has now been crossed. But what makes it so popular? And what's the new pricing? Let's find out. However, before moving ahead, make sure to join the 91Wheels WhatsApp community to never miss out on any automotive updates.

Windsor Pro EV Hits 8000 Bookings

Launched just a day ago, the Windsor Pro EV has garnered 8000 bookings in just 24 hours. This highlights an immense demand for a more capable, feature-rich electric car at a competitive price point. The Windsor Pro debuted with a highly tempting introductory price tag of Rs 17.49 lakh, which resonated with early adopters. Now, the starting price has been increased by Rs 60,000, taking it to Rs 18.09 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it will now be available at BaaS price of Rs 13.09 lakh + Rs 4.5/Km. Despite this revision, the Windsor Pro continues to present strong value, especially when compared to other long-range EVs in the segment.

What Makes It So Popular?

The rising popularity of MG Windsor Pro can be traced down to its standard version. which was launched earlier in 2024. The standard Windsor made a solid impact with its modern design, comfort, cutting-edge features on a competitive pricing. But it lacked certain premium features, along with a bigger pack for long-distance commutes. The Pro variant exactly addresses those gaps with a bigger 52.9 kWh battery pack and premium features. This battery offers a claimed range of 449 km, which gives you relief from range anxiety, which is the case with most EV owners. Additionally, MG has equipped the Pro variant with new features like vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle technology, along with a Level 2 ADAS suite with Traffic Jam Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Verdict

The MG Windsor Pro EV builds on the success of the standard Windsor and delivers exactly what buyers were looking for: more range, more features, and better tech. Even with the new price tag, it remains a strong value proposition in the growing electric SUV space.
