The Tata Altroz is making headlines with its crash test results once again, scoring a full five stars at the Bharat NCAP. If you remember from back in 2020, the old Altroz was the second Tata car after the Nexon to score five stars at the GNCAP, which was pushing the 'Safer Cars For India' campaign at the time.

Tata Altroz At The Bharat NCAP; Details

In the adult occupancy safety tests, the Altroz scored 29.65 out of 32.00 points, with 15.55 out of 16.00 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier tests and 14.11 out of 16.00 points in the side movable deformable barrier test. Protection to the front occupants was rated 'good', with the exception of 'adequate' protection to their legs. Similarly, protection to the driver was rated 'good' overall in the side pole impact test.
In the side deformable barrier test, protection was rated 'good' to the head and pelvis, 'marginal' protection to the chest, and 'adequate' protection to the stomach.

In the child occupant safety tests, the Altroz scored 44.90 out of 49.00 points, with a dynamic score of 23.90 out of 24.00 points, and a full 12.00 points for the child seat installation parameter. The overall assessment score ended up being 9.00 out of 13.00 points.
The Altroz comes loaded with a 360-degree camera, ESP, follow-me headlamps, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, a tyre pressure monitoring system, rain-sensing wipers and child-seat mounts among other safety features. It remains the only hatchback with a diesel engine option, and there are multiple engine-transmission options to buy it in.
Verdict
With the Altroz scoring full marks at the Bharat NCAP, Tata Motors keeps reminding buyers that its focus on safety remains unchanged. The Altroz has recently been updated, and it remains an interesting option you should be checking out if you plan to buy a premium hatchback.
