Tata Aeris Launched at Rs. 5.29 Lakh

Tata Cars has launched the Aeris at Rs. 5.29 lakh, ex-showroom. This sedan is a renamed and thoroughly updated successor to the Tigor sedan. The sedan is loaded with many features and the list is quite similar to the recently launched Tiago. Aeris is positioned as a strong rival of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. Let's decode what Tata Aeris has to offer to the buyers.

Tata Aeris Exterior

The Tata Aeris carries the same silhouette as the Tigor; however, on a closer look, most of the elements are taken from the Tiago facelift. Now, it has got a sleeker face with slim LED headlamps and DRLs and now it also gets fog lamps. The wheel arch has cladding, adding a touch of muscularity and visually toughening up the sedan's sides. At the rear, the taillamp unit appears to be a wider adaptation of the design seen on the Curvv, giving the car a more contemporary stance while still retaining Tata's familiar design language.

Tata has also boosted the practicality in the sedan. Now it has a ground clearance of 170 mm, helping the Aeris to deal with rough Indian roads and speed breakers with ease. It also has a practical boot with 70 liters of capacity on offer.

Tata Aeris Interior

Inside the Tata Aeris, the cabin takes most of the inspiration from the new-gen Tiago. Both the layout and equipment are similar to that. Major highlights inside the sedan include a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, and a redesigned steering wheel with a matte-finished centre panel and integrated Tata logo. A rotary drive selector is a standout addition for the sedan, while the AMT variant gains paddle shifters for a slightly more engaging drive.

Comfort has been bumped up a notch too, with leatherette seat upholstery lending the cabin a more premium feel and front ventilated seats, a rare and welcome addition in this segment, for added comfort on hot days. The cabin gets a beige theme spread across the dashboard, doors and seats.

Tata Aeris Features

Tata Aeris has a long list of features, making it more competitive in the segment. It comes with an integrated dashcam and DVR function, allowing the owners to record their drives and to keep the safety documentation.

Tata has also decided to move away from the touch-based climate and infotainment controls. In Aeris, they have bring back physical buttons for those functions. Tata has also introduced a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen, styled like the one on the Tiago, paired with a fully digital instrument cluster. The Aeris also has connected car technology.

Tata Aeris Powertrain

Tata has continued to move with the same engine in Aeris, which we have seen in the Tigor's. It's a tried-and-tested engine lineup: a 1.2-litre petrol unit and a petrol-CNG option, both offered with 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearboxes. The petrol engine produces 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque, while the CNG variant makes 76 PS and 97 Nm.

Tata Aeris Safety

Tata has introduces a new Tata's next-gen X ALFA architecture, engineered with a strong focus on occupant safety. The platform is designed to offer a stiffer, more rigid structure, forming the base for the car's crash protection and overall dynamic behaviour.

The Aeris's safety suite has blind view monitoring, torque vectoring by braking, roll-over mitigation, hill hold control, and cornering stability control. For crash protection, the sedan comes with six airbags as standard across all variants, a reinforced roll cage built with high-strength materials, an all-round impact protection body structure, along with post-crash SOS support and post-crash panic notification.

Price

The Aeris is offered across five personas, Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished, with both petrol and iCNG manual options at launch. Petrol AMT is available on Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished, while iCNG AMT is offered on the same four personas.
