Tata Altroz is one of the latest offerings by Tata and the vehicle rivals against the likes of cars like the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, VW Polo, Toyota Glanza, and Honda Jazz. It is also worth noting that the car scored a perfect five-star rating in the GNCAP safety crash tests. The buyers of the Altroz have an option to choose from two engine options - 1.2-L petrol, and a 1.5-L diesel engine. Just like always, the tank of the vehicle was filled to the brim and the fuel economy meter was reset after which the fuel economy run was started. During the fuel economy run, we drove the vehicle in mixed conditions which involved city roads and open roads. After completing almost 130 km, the fuel economy meter displayed a fuel economy figure of 21 kmpl and the tank was again filled to the max. After completing the run, the Altroz diesel sipped in around 5.19L of diesel. Simple calculations revealed that the Altroz delivered a fuel economy of almost 25 kmpl (24.7 kmpl) after completing 128.4 km in the city. Considering the size of the vehicle, the overall fuel economy delivered by this 1.5-L diesel engine is impressive.
