Tata Avinya Steering Wheel Design Patented

Tata Avinya X, when showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 drew a lot of attention, and for all the right reasons Its styling is on point, making a strong statement for itself. With a dual tone of teal and black mixed in the right proportions and the LED DRLs at the front, it looks nothing like the Tata line-up currently available. Now, staying true to its concept images, the steering wheel design has been patented in a chunky dual-spoke setup that looks and feels premium.

This patent is in line with the interior images of the concept reveal that showcased a dual-spoke steering wheel along with a clean dashboard with a sleek digital instrument cluster and a free-floating big-sized infotainment screen with a combination of beige and black interiors that oozes luxury, almost reminiscent of a Range Rover's cabin. While the concept of the production road will be met with some changes inside and out, the steering wheel is now confirmed to stay true to the roots.

For the Avinya X, Tata Motors has opted to leverage Jaguar Land Rover's Electric Modular Architecture (EMA) platform, demonstrating a strategic move towards blending premium features with a strong focus on sustainable and forward-thinking technology. The vehicle is anticipated to achieve a range exceeding 500 kilometers. However, specific technical details concerning the vehicle's underlying systems are currently limited and the brand remains highly secretive of any more details.

Verdict

Tata Avinya concept looks very ambitious and if it could resemble its current form, it will be an eye candy on the road. However, the production-spec model encounters a lot of practical challenges which needs to deviate from the concept stages, that acts just as the foundational stone. However, we will have to wait out till it nears launch and see what comes up at the end and how much range will it offer. Not to forget the price point which also plays a huge role in its footing in the Indian market
