Tata Harrier EV - Teased

In the recently released teaser for the Harrier EV, the brand unveiled several off-road features of the upcoming electric vehicle. The Harrier EV will be equipped with a dual-motor setup to power each axle, making it all-wheel drive (AWD), which Tata refers to as a Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) system. The SUV recently tackled the Elephant Rock in Kerala, demonstrating its impressive off-road capabilities.

The brand has teased various features, including different terrain modes such as rock crawl, snow, and sand, which can be selected using a rotary drive mode selector located in the center console. Additionally, the Harrier EV video showcases a 360-degree camera equipped with a transparent mode to display the terrain surface. Inside, the video reveals that the electric version will feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster with an EV-specific user interface. Furthermore, the video demonstrates that the EV easily climbed a 34-degree gradient on the Elephant Rock.

Some features of the Harrier EV will be shared with the Harrier ICE model. While the design will resemble that of the ICE variant, it will include some modifications specific to the electric vehicle, such as a closed-off grille and new aerodynamic alloy wheels.

When discussing the powertrain and range, the instrument cluster shown in the video indicated a range of 550 km at 88% charge. This suggests that the Harrier EV could achieve up to 600 km on a full charge. The electric vehicle will feature a QWD drivetrain and will deliver 500 Nm of peak torque. Details about the battery pack will be revealed at the launch.
