Citroen launched their first product, C5 Aircross almost an year back and the sales of that SUV haven't been that great. Now fast forward to 2022, the French carmaker is gearing up for the launch of its mass-market hatchback, C3 which will be unveiled in June.
Citroen C3 will target the buyers of the popular Tata Punch and Maruti Ignis. Both these hatchbacks are great in the Indian market and it seems that the upcoming hatch will have to have some solid points to rule the Indian market. It is likely to be offered with a 1.2L petrol motor only at first.
This four-cylinder motor is expected to churn out 84 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 113 Nm to 118 Nm. The more powerful turbo petrol motor could be offered at a later stage. This hatch will be offered in both manual as well as automatic transmission. It remains to be seen if the latter will be available in AMT or CVT option. A torque converter unit seems highly unlikely.

Feature-wise, the C3 will boast a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a multi-function steering wheel with tilt-adjustable setting, automatic climate control, keyless entry, power-folding ORVMs, push button start/stop and more.
Safety features on the hatchback will include dual airbags, front seat belt reminder, ABS with EBD, a high-speed alert system, reverse parking sensors, rear parking camera, speed sensing door lock and more. To differentiate itself from its rivals, four airbags for higher variants along with a tyre pressure monitoring system will be a nice touch to boost sales of this hatchback.
