According to the reports on the internet, the upcoming model might have some features added to it. For now, the diesel variant bookings have been stopped across the country. As per Toyota, the high demand and long waiting period have become the main reason for the halt of bookings.
Toyota Innova Diesel Comeback Details
When we speak of the Innova, we speak of the MPV king in India. The Crysta has been an undoubted segment leader for a long time. However, the long waiting period on its diesel iteration is leading to more waiting time for the customers. Meanwhile, to control the flow of deliveries Toyota has stopped taking its bookings for the diesel variant. Additionally, a new Toyota Innova Hycross is also on its way to the Indian market.
But, according to the reports on the internet, the diesel engine will make a comeback real soon. It is being said that the diesel Innova will resume in the upcoming January 2023. Additionally, it is expected to get some more features too. However, the petrol variant of its might undergo an overhaul. Toyota is planning to introduce a petrol hybrid to replace the current petrol version of the Innova.
Just for the remembrance, the Innova diesel comes equipped with a robust and reliable 2.4-Lt turbocharged engine. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The peak power output stands at 148 bhp and the peak torque at 360 Nm. Meanwhile, the deliveries for the already booked diesel cars will be given soon according to the company.
Toyota Hyryder Details
Additionally, Toyota is also revamping its production line. Why? Well, the newly launched mid-size hybrid SUV Hyryder needs a new lineup. The revamping needs halting in some areas of the company production plant. Hence, to keep the delivery flow without obstruction, diesel bookings are halted. The Hyryder is a cousin car to the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Both of these cars offer space, performance, and amazing fuel efficiency figures as per the records.
