The KIA Sonet stands out as one of the most sought-after sub-4 meter SUVs, known for its feature loaded interior and number of engine options. Currently, KIA Motors India is gearing up for an imminent facelift for the Sonet. They are actively conducting tests on the updated model, and this test vehicle has been frequently seen on the roads. In a recent spotting, a walkaround video showcasing the upcoming KIA Sonet has emerged online, posted by The Car Show YouTube channel.

Upcoming KIA Sonet Facelift - New Alloy Wheels, Interior & Other Changes

The recently spotted test mule was covered with camouflage, yet it offered a glimpse of both exterior and interior design elements. The most noticeable alteration can be seen in the fresh design of the 16-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, the front fascia will feature subtle enhancements in the headlamp assembly, a new LED daytime running light (DRL) configuration, and a redesigned front bumper.

Towards the rear, the test mule displayed a new LED tail lamp design, similar to the new Seltos model. Furthermore, the rear end is expected to showcase a revamped bumper design. It is anticipated that there will be additional minor exterior updates included in the upcoming facelift. Additional features observed on the test vehicle included a panoramic electric sunroof, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, as well as front and rear parking sensors.

Inside the vehicle, the test mule showcased fresh brown leatherette seats, reminiscent of the ones found in the latest Seltos. The design of the air conditioning vents appears similar to the current generation, but notable updates can be observed in the infotainment screen and HVAC controls. Given the intense competition within the sub-4 meter SUV segment, KIA is likely considering the inclusion of advanced features like ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and other innovative additions. Additionally, the test model exhibited rear sun blinds, a potential first in its segment.

Upcoming KIA Sonet Facelift Engine Options

In the sub-4 meter SUV category, the Sonet has garnered immense popularity for its diverse engine choices. We expect the facelifted model to continue offering all three of its existing engine options. Presently, these include a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Furthermore, KIA may reintroduce manual transmissions for the diesel and turbocharged petrol variants in the facelifted lineup. At present, the transmission choices consist of a 5-speed manual for the 1.2-liter engine, a 7-speed DCT, a 6-speed IMT for the 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, and a 6-speed IMT and 6-speed torque converter AT for the 1.5-liter diesel engine.
