Hyundai Motor Company celebrated the eighth anniversary of its high-performance N brand by unveiling the newly redesigned Elantra N, known as Avante N in South Korea and i30 Sedan N in Australia. The new Elantra N boasts advanced technology derived from motorsport, delivering superior handling, enhanced safety, comfort, and an exhilarating driving experience that promises to engage the emotions of drivers. It is interesting to know that the Hyundai Elantra had a run in the Indian market in the past and then was eventually pulled off the shelves.

Let's look at everything that the updated Elantra has to offer.

2024 Hyundai Elantra N-Line Debuts: What's New

The newly redesigned Elantra N by Hyundai showcases a bold and aggressive exterior with lowered stance, enlarged black trim, and N-specific red accents. Inside, it features N-branded elements like the steering wheel, shift knob, illuminated logo sport seats, and a sporty instrument cluster. The black anodized emblem marks the N brand's new design identity. With improvements beneath the surface, including enhanced suspension components, it promises superior handling, reduced vibration, and an engaging high-performance driving experience, embodying the spirit of the N brand.

N brand has always been inspired by motorsport competition, and now that Elantra N TCR has proved its advanced technology with a successful race career, the new Elantra N becomes evidence of our commitment to bring motorsport-winning DNA into our road cars for N fans to enjoy, said Till Wartenberg, Vice President and Head of N Brand and Motorsport at Hyundai Motor Company.

Updated Feature List

Inside the new Elantra N, you'll find sportier bucket seats, distinguishing it from the standard Elantra. It also boasts a 4.2-inch instrument cluster, a generous 10.25-inch infotainment system complemented by Bose speakers, advanced connected car technology, and the use of soft-touch materials on various surfaces, enhancing the overall comfort and driving experience. It now gets an electronic parking brake, a Digital Key 2 Touch that allows you to open the car with your iPhone or Apple Watch, and heated first and second-row seats. The revised Elantra N sedan has two more airbags, increasing the total to eight, as well as adaptive cruise control, a Blind-Spot View Monitor, a surround-view camera, and a built-in dash cam.

Powertrain

The Elantra N retains its formidable 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering an impressive 280PS of power and 393Nm of torque, with automatic over-boost briefly boosting power to 290PS for 20 seconds. The car achieves a top speed of 280 kmph. Power is transmitted to the front axle through either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic gearbox, aided by an adjustable electromechanical front differential to ensure precise torque distribution to the road.

Hyundai has officially confirmed substantial enhancements beneath the surface of the Elantra N, which encompass a reinforced engine mount membrane and G-bushing, along with the introduction of a urethane rear suspension insulator in place of rubber. These refinements are designed to reduce vibration while simultaneously enhancing yaw response, steering precision, and damping. Additionally, the electronically-controlled suspension hardware has undergone optimizations via software adjustments, resulting in improved body control during driving.

Verdict

The Hyundai Elantra N is a high-performance sedan that marks the eighth anniversary of Hyundai's N brand. With its dynamic design, potent powertrain, and sporty interior, it promises an engaging and emotionally charged driving experience. The combination of advanced safety features, a comfortable cabin, and a blend of technology make it a compelling choice for enthusiasts seeking both performance and everyday practicality. Also, join our Whatsapp Group Community of petrolheads to find out more exciting news like this.
