Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has launched a new variant in its premium hatchback lineup, the i20. The new Magna Executive variant is priced at Rs 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and is positioned below the Magna variant. This Executive variant is available exclusively with a manual transmission. Hyundai i20 Variant Rejigged

The new Magna Executive variant now sits above the base Era variant. This new variant comes with features like ESC, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, 15-inch steel wheels with covers, a digital cluster with a TFT MID, among other basic features. Moreover, the brand has added an electric sunroof in the new Magna iVT variant along with rear AC vent, LED DRL, and a front centre armrest with storage. Not only this, the brand has now updated the Sportz (O) variant with a Z-shaped LED tail lamp, smart electric sunroof, BOSE premium sound system, smart key with push button start, and fully automatic climate control system.

This update enhances the Magna and Sportz (O) variants by adding more features. Hyundai has also introduced an accessory pack priced at Rs 14,999. This pack includes a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a rear camera. Additionally, the accessory pack comes with a three-year warranty.

If we talk about the engine, the i20 continues to come with a single 1.2-litre NA petrol engine producing 83 PS of power and 114.7 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated with a 5-speed manual and an iVT gearbox option. The pricing of the newly launched variants is given below.

Verdict
The Hyundai i20 is one of the most popular premium hatchbacks in the Indian market. The launch of the new variant will help customers make better choices, and the addition of new features in the Magna and Sportz (O) variants adds more value. This update comes just ahead of the launch of the new-gen Tata Altroz, indicating that Hyundai is well-prepared for the upcoming competition, especially in the lower variants, which are likely to be impacted by the Altrozs update.
