In the latest development, Maruti Suzuki has updated their popular cars - the Fronx and XL6 - with 6 airbags as standard. These were among the few Maruti cars left without this update, and it has finally been implemented. Moreover, even the prices have been marginally increased on select variants. Fronx

This sub-compact SUV, based on the Baleno, previously offered the 6-airbag safety feature only in the top three variants - Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. Now, every variant has been updated with this safety feature. Additionally, the SUV has seen a price hike of Rs 4,000 on all trims, except the Delta Plus. Morever, Fronx also gets ABS with EBD, hill hold, 3-point seatbelts reminder, ISOFIX anchorages as standard.
The Maruti Fronx is available with three different powertrains and multiple gearbox options. The first is a 1.2L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine, which customers can choose with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. There is also a CNG option paired with this 1.2L engine, available only with a 5-speed manual. Lastly, there's a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, which comes with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic (torque converter).
XL6

Maruti Suzuki XL6 is a premium version of Ertiga which is offered with only a 6-seater option. The captain seats and black leather interior sets it apart from the Ertiga interior. That said, its available in 6 variants, and now all of them have recieved 6 airbags. Earlier, this MPV was equipped with just 4 variants. To add more, this car is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid assistance, and there is also a CNG option available. The gearbox options available are a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Lastly, this car will also get a price hike, but Maruti hasn't announced anything yet.

Verdict
Both cars are spacious, fuel-efficient, and come with a great set of features. Their ride quality is also fantastic, and like every Maruti car, they offer low maintenance costs. With 6 airbags, customer confidence will be boosted, and now critics will have to find new things to point out as negatives for these cars. Also, by the end of the year, the Ignis and S-Presso will receive this update as well.
