Renault Duster Spied Testing

The upcoming Renault Duster has been spotted testing soon after the global debut of the Nissan Tekton, hinting that both models will share similar underpinnings. Despite being heavily camouflaged, we can make out that it boasts a more muscular and modern silhouette as compared to the previous model, which was on sale. At the front, you can expect Y-shaped LED DRLs along with LED headlamps and a wide grille inspired by the global Dacia Duster. The side profile looks upright and robust, maintaining the Duster's SUV DNA but with smoother lines and modern proportions. At the rear, sleek LED tail lamps, a sculpted tailgate, and a revised bumper complete the fresh, contemporary look.
What Could Be On Offer?

The all-new Duster won't just rely on nostalgia but will be packed with a lot of modern-day features. Some of them might include a 10.1-inch infotainment with wireless connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof and much more.
Under the hood, the next-gen Duster is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain, as it is offered globally. It comes with two powertrain options: a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system and a 1.6-litre strong hybrid setup. Meanwhile, the transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a DCT unit. However, it might also come with an AWD configuration.
The new-gen Duster has the right ingredients for a strong comeback, but in India's most competitive SUV segment, it's the pricing that will ultimately decide its fate.

Verdict
The new-gen Renault Duster appears ready for a strong comeback, combining rugged design with modern features and hybrid powertrains. It carries the potential to revive the Duster's legacy in India, offering a mix of capability, technology, and style. However, in a segment packed with heavyweights like the Creta and Seltos, its real success will depend on how aggressively Renault prices and positions it in the market.
