Hyundai Creta Facelift: What to Expect

Let's take a closer look at the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift based on some recent spy shots. Even though the test car was heavily camouflaged, keen observers have noticed some style elements that match what we've seen before. To confirm it's the Creta, there's a sticker on one of the fenders with the internal code SU2i, which Hyundai also used for the current Creta.

So, what can we expect from this facelift? Well, it seems the new Creta might sport a vertical headlamp setup, possibly split, and similar LED daytime running lights like the Palisade. Previous spy shots from India also revealed other interesting details, such as updated LED lighting, fresh roof rails, and new alloy wheel designs.

Moving to the rear, we anticipate a revised bumper, new LED tail-lights, and some interior tweaks and upgrades. The Creta could also get some cosmetic enhancements like blackened B-pillars, a redesigned tailgate with a dedicated spot for the number plate, fog lights, and possibly some changes to the grille.

As for features, the current Creta already offers quite a lot, but this facelift could take things up a notch. Expect additions like a 360-degree camera system, dual-zone climate control, an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, and maybe even a revamped dashboard. Of course, favourites like the 10-inch infotainment system, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, air purifier, ambient lighting, and more should still be part of the package.

Hyundai Creta Facelift: Engine Options

The upcoming Creta facelift will give you three engine options to choose from. First up, there's the entry-level 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, packing a respectable 115 bhp. Then, for those who prefer diesel, the Creta will offer a 115 bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine, just like the one you can spot in these spy shots. And if you're looking for a bit more power, you can go for the 160 bhp 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.

Verdict

The refreshed Creta for the Indian market seems to draw some design inspiration from the Palisade SUV sold abroad. According to online sources, production for this updated Creta is set to kick off at Hyundai's India plant around mid-January 2024. You can expect the car to hit the market and pricing details to be revealed by late February. The Hyundai Creta rivals the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and others.
