India-Bound Renault Duster Global Debut Set For November 29- Details

If the reports are to be believed, the new Renault Duster or the Dacia Duster is all set for a global debut on November 29, 2023, in Portugal. The India-bound Duster will make its way sometime in 2025 as reported earlier. While the Duster moniker had its iconic position in the market, it was discontinued a few years back.

New-Gen Renault Duster Global Debut Next Month

The new Duster showcases a boxy, rugged appearance, setting it apart from its predecessor, and rides on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B modular platform. While Dacia's sleeker fascia design is incorporated, the Renault-branded version will exhibit unique design elements. Furthermore, there are plans for a three-row Duster variant called the Bigster SUV, which is slated for a global premiere in the near future.

Going by the previous international spy shots, the new Duster exudes a commanding stance with a notably substantial footprint. Its roots are closely tied to both the Dacia Duster and the Bigster Concept, indicating that its dimensions are likely to fall somewhere in between these two SUVs.

On the front, even beneath its camouflage, the vehicle revealed numerous hints about its design. It boasts a sleek LED headlamp arrangement and a slim, vertically oriented grille. The air intakes in the bumper corners also adopt a vertical orientation, while the fog lamp assembly, although concealed by camo, is expected to be a prominent feature on the Duster.

Powertrain

The forthcoming Duster will offer a choice of three petrol engines. They include a 120hp 1.0-liter turbo-petrol, a 140hp 1.2-liter petrol hybrid, and a potent 170hp 1.3-liter turbo-petrol, which is flex-fuel compatible in higher trim levels. This 170hp engine marks the most powerful Duster to date. However, the engine options for the Indian variant are still not clear. The answer to whether we will get all three 3 options, or whether there will be any omissions still lies in the future.

In India, the new Duster is scheduled to arrive by 2025, competing directly with midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in this rapidly growing segment. While it will face some long-standing giants of the segment, its iconic legacy will contribute to its quick adoption in the Indian market.
