Kia Motors made its debut into the Indian market by launching the Seltos and since then the mid-size SUV has been taking the markets by storm. Such is the view from the top that the bookings for the Kia Seltos have crossed 1 lakh mark.
The pre-launch of Kia Seltos saw a total of 30,000 bookings and till October 2019, the bookings reached 80,000 and are now scaling over a whopping 100,000. Kia Seltos competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500 and Nissan Kicks.
Kia Seltos is made available in three engine options and it is the first mid-size SUV to come with different transmissions for each engine option. Mind you, all engine options of the Seltos comes with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L oil burner offers 115 bhp on tap along with a maximum torque of 250 Nm. In terms of automatic then it gets a 6-speed AT.

Coming to the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol motor then it churns 115 bhp and a peak torque of 114 Nm. Transmission sticks to a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The most powerful of the lot, the 1.4L turbo petrol offers a 7-speed DCT along with the standard manual gearbox. Power figures stick to 140 bhp and 172 Nm of torque.
Kia Seltos is in demand equally for both petrol and diesel engines. The oil burner acts as a favourite among buyers. A lot of bookings are of top-spec trims like the GTX+ (1.4 T-GDI Petrol), HTX+ (1.5L Diesel) and HTX (1.5L Petrol).
Kia Seltos is the premium mid-size SUV which offers UVO Connect - a connectivity features with which you can control the functions of your car. It also gets Blind Spot Monitoring System (a first in the segment), ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, Heads-up display (again a class-leading feature), wireless charging, Drive modes (for DCT only) and among others.

Kia Motors is also readying up for its second product which will be named, Carnival. It is a luxurious MPV which will sit above Toyota Innova Crysta and the expected price is Rs 30 lakh. The prices for the Kia Seltos starts at Rs 9.89 lakh and the top model fetches up to Rs 16.29 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
