Kia Seltos is a much liked modern-looking SUV in terms of design, features, safety, technology, and performance. It comes equipped with aesthetic LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs that gives the car a distinctive character and make the car look sleeker. The GT Line comes with sporty crystal cut alloy wheels, LED tail lights, three-dimensional turn indicators, chrome faux twin exhaust garnish, electric sunroof, distinctive tiger nose grille, and bold shoulder lines.

XUV700 is based on Mahindra's latest global W601 platform. However, there is a possibility that the SUV might appeal a bit similar to XUV500 . XUV700 being an updated version of the brand, offers rugged styling with new designed elements such as clear-view LED Headlamps, arrow LED tail lights, LED fog lamps, smart door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels and an unmissable front grille. Kia is no less, you will be astonished to look at the list of features, conveniences, infotainment and technology it comes with. It comes equipped with premium fabric black seats, electric power steering, tilt steering, all door power windows, follow me home headlamps, front armrest with storage box, sunglass holder, day and night rear-view mirror, rear ac vents, front and rear USB charging ports. 

Some first-in-segment features include new-age iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission), smart air purifiers, voice-controlled sunroof and driver window, and smart 8-inch heads-up display. Apart from these features it also includes paddle shifters, exciting interiors, more updated maps, a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen with Navigation and UVO connected car technology. Kia Seltos is a room for everything ready for all adventures. It has a 7-inch digital cockpit, 360-degree camera view, ventilated and power seats, the smart air purifier installed also has virus and bacteria protection, BOSE sound system with eight speakers, ambient lighting, and multiple drive modes and traction modes.

Seltos structure uses high-strength steel and adhesives, six-airbags, ESC, HAC, VSM, ABS for better controls, all-wheel disc brakes, and tyre pressure monitor. These were the detailed features that Kia offers with its Seltos. Some features may differ depending on the variant you opt for.  

Mahindra is offering segment-first features with this latest one. The XUV700 comes with a six-way electronically adjustable driver's seat, dual HD Superscreen which is a combination of infotainment screen and digital drivers display compatible with ADRENOX connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility over Wi-Fi also, Alexa built-in integration, immersive 3D sound technology, driver drowsiness alert, intuitive drive modes, AdrenoX connect app, and intelligent cockpit. 

XUV700 also offers a Luxury Pack with its top-end variants. Luxury pack includes one of the most innovative ADAS safety features that offer Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition. Along with the ADAS pack, it comes with ESP, an electronic power brake and auto hold, a Front collision warning, and seven airbags.

Mahindra XUV700 vs Kia Seltos Comparison - Specs

Kia Seltos is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre CRDi VGT 6AT X Line diesel engine is capable of producing 115 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque and the smartstream 1.4-litre GDI 7DCT petrol engine produces 140 PS of maximum power and 242 Nm of peak torque. 

On the other hand, Mahindra XUV700 is also available with petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces 200 PS of maximum power and 380 Nm of peak torque and 2.2-litre turbo diesel with CRDi engine delivers 185 PS of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque.

Price

The price plays an important factor to consider. Kia Seltos and Mahindra XUV700 are aggressively priced to make it affordable for everyone. Kia Seltos is an old player in the industry now and is already hitting the sales chart regularly. The base trim of Kia Seltos has a waiting period of a minimum of six months and the top-end variants has a waiting time of three months at the least. 

XUV700 is aggressively priced making it convenient and affordable for all. It asks for a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 22.89 lakhs (ex-showroom). The most attractive thing about XUV700 is it is available with 5-seater and 7-seater options along 34 variants. On the other hand, the Kia Seltos starts at Rs 9.95 lakhs (ex-showroom,Delhi) and goes up to Rs 17.79 lakhs (ex-showroom,Delhi).
