Design Updates: Sharper Lighting & New Alloy Wheels Confirmed

2026 Maruti Brezza Spotted Testing Again

Despite the heavy camouflage, the latest prototype reveals some clear exterior changes to the Maruti Brezza facelift. The headlamps and tail-lamps show signs of reworked internal signatures, hinting at sharper LED DRLs and a more premium light treatment, a necessary upgrade as lighting tech becomes a key differentiator in the segment. This mule also runs on new black swirl-style alloy wheels, a departure from earlier test units that reused wheels from the current model. These four-spoke alloys give the facelifted Brezza a more dynamic stance, suggesting Maruti is refreshing more than just the bumpers and lighting elements.

From the profile, the silhouette remains familiar, retaining the SUV's upright posture, squared wheel arches, and bold shoulder lines. However, the camouflaged bumpers and side cladding hint at redesigned elements for a cleaner, updated look.

Interior Upgrades: Expect A Bigger Screen and Feature Boost

While no interior spy shots have surfaced yet, the facelift is expected to bring significant cabin upgrades. Maruti is likely working on a larger 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen, upgraded digital instrument cluster, premium upholstery, better material quality, ventilated seats, and enhanced audio system. Safety is becoming a key battleground in this segment, and with rivals offering ADAS-equipped variants, Maruti could introduce Level 2 ADAS features on the facelifted Brezza, though this is yet to be confirmed.

The current Brezza already packs a strong equipment list with a 360-degree camera, HUD, six airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, and connected features. These are expected to continue, possibly with refinements.

Powertrain: No Major Mechanical Changes Expected

The 2026 Brezza facelift will continue with Maruti's 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid petrol engine, producing 103 PS and 139 Nm. Transmission options, 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, will be retained, and fuel efficiency figures are likely to remain similar. The CNG variant will also carry over. Interestingly, previous sightings hinted at a possible underbody CNG cylinder, similar to the Victoris CNG. If true, this would free up substantial boot space and enhance practicality for CNG buyers.

With multiple test mules now spotted across different regions, development seems to be in its final stages. The 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift is expected to make its debut sometime next year, where it will take on a fiercely competitive lineup of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3XO, and Skoda Kylaq.

Verdict

The Brezza continues to be a pillar in Maruti's SUV lineup, but with competition tightening from all sides, this facelift arrives at the right time. The redesigned lighting, new alloy wheels, and expected tech upgrades suggest Maruti is focusing on modernisation rather than a cosmetic quick-fix. If the updated interior and potential ADAS features arrive as anticipated, the Brezza may once again set benchmarks for practicality and everyday usability in the compact SUV segment.
