It has been two long years since we have seen the Tata Nexon EV released in India and climbing the mount of success with its value for money offerings, but some range anxiety. Developed and manufactured from the scratch by Tata Motors in India, this was one of the first electric cars for the Indian Homelands. Tata Motors is all set to release the Tata Nexon EV Long Range edition in the month of April now.

The wait is finally over as Tata Nexon EV Long range would be revealed on the 6th of April, 2022. The new Nexon EV would be featuring a larger battery pack which is expected to increase the range of the Nexon EV to around 400 kilometres. This might not sound to be an impressive figure when compared to the current ARAI certified range of 312 kilometres claimed on paper, but in real life, this rise would surely be a great deal! The current battery pack in the Nexon EV is rated at 30.2 kWh and the motor delivers a peak power of 125 bhp and peak torque of 245 N-m.
Along with a larger battery pack, the Nexon EV long range will boast off a few other features and some of them we expect are an air purifier and ventilated front seats. From the drivability point of view, we expect Tata to introduce cruise control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and rear disk brakes on this update. As per the reports, Tata will offer a 6.6 kW AC charger with the new model.
Even though plonking a bigger battery pack in the same vehicle could eat up the boot space and increase the overall weight of the car, Tata would have worked them out efficiently and tested them as per the test mules spotted camouflaged multiple times. The Nexon EV will take over the likes of the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona in this segment where both these Electric vehicles deliver approximately 400 kilometres of range on a full charge in real life scenarios.
