Tata Motors To Provide 250 EVs For Aurangabad Mission Green Mobility

As per the States vision for a clean and green environment, Tata Motors will provide 175 Nexon EVs and 75 Tigor EVs to the state.

As part of the Aurangabad Mission Green Mobility, Indias leading automobile company, Tata Motors has already delivered 101 EVs to the state. Of which, 70 units were Nexon EVs, and 31 units were Tigor EVs. The remainder will be delivered in the coming days, as part of the second phase. The handover ceremony was graced by Mr. Shailesh Chandra, the Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle LTD. and Tata Passengers Electric Mobility Ltd.

The ceremony took place at the ITC Rama International, wherein Mr. Shailesh Chandra said, It is heartening to see members of AMGM adopt a green and clean future, not only as individual contributors but also as a community... I would like to congratulate and thank AMGM for their order of 250 Tata EVs. This will set an example for other states as well..."

Tata Motors currently has a commanding market share of 87%, with over 21,500 units of its EVs on road to date. In its effort to make EVs more accessible, the automobile company is closely working with other Tata Group companies, including, Tata Power, Tata Chemical, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance, and Croma. All of these companies are working together for the faster adoption of EVs in India through its EV ecosystem called the Tata uniEVerse.

As far as the Nexon EV is concerned, this compact SUV has an ARAI-certified range of 312 kms on a single charge. It is equipped with a 129 Ps permanent magnet AC motor that is powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. Similarly, the recently-launched Tigor EV also comes packed in with a supreme powertrain.  This includes a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is good for 55 kW of power and 170 Nm of torque. The Tigor EV can do 0-60 kmph in 5.7 seconds and has an ARAI-certified range of 306 kms. The Tigor EVs Ziptron technology further helps deliver high performance via an energy-efficient electric motor.
