Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder Variants Explained - Here's What You Get In Each Trim?

The Urban Cruiser HyRyder, a premium mid-size SUV from Toyota Kirloskar Motor, has been revealed in India. The new Toyota SUV is absolutely packed with features, including an AWD system. The HyRyder is the first SUV in its class to have a strong hybrid powertrain, allowing it to operate in both petrol and electric mode.

Toyota has disclosed all the specifications and features for the upcoming Urban Cruiser HyRyder, but the SUV's price won't be revealed until August. We'll go through the HyRyder's features and available drivetrains in this article.

Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder Engine

Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder comes with a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle strong hybrid engine. The 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine that powers the Toyota HyRyder can deliver 100 bhp of power output and 135 Nm of maximum torque. A 6-speed AT gearbox and a 5-speed manual gearbox are paired with this engine. This engine is also available with an AWD configuration.

The 1.5-litre strong-hybrid engine, on the other hand, can generate 114 bhp of power and 141 Nm of maximum torque. This engine has a 2WD configuration and is coupled with an e-drive transmission.

Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder Variants

There are two main variants of the Toyota HyRyder are available: NeoDrive and Hybrid. While the Hybrid is available in S, G, and V trims, the NeoDrive is available in E, S, G, and V trims. The list of features for each trim can be seen below.

The HyRyder's E trim has a 5-speed manual transmission and a 1.5-liter petrol engine option only.

One can choose the NeoDrive or Strong Hybrid engine with the S trim. On the S trim of the HyRyder, a 6-speed transmission is an optional option for the NeoDrive variant.
