Official figures for the month of August 2022 are now out and as expected, SUVs continue to dominate various segments in the Indian automotive industry. Infact 9 out of the top 25 selling cars last month were SUVs. Here is a quick look at the models that have been trending and extremely popular.

The newly launched Maruti Brezza has started off to a great start. Bookings are through the roof and no wonder, this is now India's best selling SUV and will remain so for months to come. Following it very closely is Tata's rockstar, the Nexon. Infact, the Nexon was leading the pack for a while now. Both these models are sub 4m compact SUVs. The Nexon recently got new variant additions in the form of Jet edition.
Hyundai's Creta comes in at the number 3 spot. For a car that has an average ex-showroom price of Rs 13-14 lakh, selling over 12500 units a month is a great achievement. Tata's second entry here is the Punch while Hyundai's Venue too makes it in the list at the 5th spot. The Venue got a variant addition today with the launch of the N-Line model.
In the coming few months, Maruti will further deepen its hold in the SUV market with price announcement of the Grand Vitara's mid-size SUV.
