2021 Toyota Fortuner Facelift and Fortuner Legender India Launch on January 6 - Details

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has now finally officially announced that the new 2021 Toyota Fortuner Facelift and the all-new Fortuner Legender BS6 will be launched in India on January 6, 2021. The new Toyota Fortuner Facelift was unveiled in Thailand just a couple of months ago and now it is finally coming to our shores. What's even further interesting is that Toyota will also launch the all-new Fortuner Legender in India and this is now even officially confirmed as you can see in this new teaser image. The headlights shown in this teaser image are completely identical to the LED headlights of the Fortuner Legender. In this article, we have for you all the details about the new facelifted Toyota Fortuner and the all-new Fortuner Legender BS6.

First of all, starting with the changes, so the new upcoming facelift version of the Toyota Fortuner will get a revised front fascia, new alloy wheels and there will be some minor nip and tuck here and there. The SUV will also get a new top of the line variant called the Fortuner Legender. The new Toyota Fortuner Legender will be basically a more enhanced and sporty version of the SUV. It will get a host of cosmetic updates when compared to the regular Fortuner and some additional features too. For starters, the new Legender variant of the Fortuner will get a more aggressive front fascia with all-LED headlights, daytime-running LEDs and sequential LED turn indicators. It will even get all-new colour schemes, 20-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, etc. Also, on the inside, it will get an all-new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, etc.

Talking about the powertrain options, so the upcoming Fortuner Facelift and the new Fortuner Legender will get the same engine options. Both of them will be powered by a BS6-compliant 2.7-litre petrol engine that will churn out 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of peak torque. The petrol mill will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Then, they will get an uprated BS6-compliant 2.8-litre diesel engine. This diesel mill currently churns out 177 PS of power and 420 Nm of peak torque (for the MT variants) and 450 Nm of peak torque (for the AT variants). But, the uprated BS6 motor will churn out a massive 204 PS of power and a whopping 500 Nm of peak torque. The oil-burner will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

Now, finally talking about the launch date and the expected price, so as we have already mentioned the new 2021 Toyota Fortuner Facelift and the all-new Fortuner Legender BS6 will be launched in India on January 6, 2021. At present, the BS6-compliant Toyota Fortuner is priced between Rs. 28.66 lakhs - Rs. 34.43 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. The upcoming facelifted model will charge a slight premium compared to the current model. However, the Legender variant will be priced quite higher and it is expected to be priced around Rs. 43 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
