2022 Hyundai Tucson Spied Testing On Indian Roads With ADAS Tech, Radar Module - Read All Details
2022 Hyundai Tucson has been spotted testing with a front radar module and ADAS tech. We bring you the details of this upcoming mid-size SUV from Hyundai.
There has been a lot of noise about the newly updated avatar of Hyundai's mid-size luxury SUV Tucson for a long time as the testing's of the new car continue. Now, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson SUV has been spied again testing in a completely camouflaged form with a front radar module featuring ADAS technology.
2022 Hyundai Tucson Design & Features
Like the current generation, Tucson has been hauling the mid-size luxury SUV segment for Hyundai for a long time; the long due update will bring evolutional changes with its launch in the global as well as domestic markets.
The new Tucson will feature a heavily redesigned front with a parametric jewel theme for the 3-D front grille design. Hyundai calls this new design philosophy 'Sensuous Sportiness'. One can also spot the faux skid plates on the front revamped bumper as well. Also, on the side profile the new Tucson will feature sharp border lines which divulge smartly into the new rear design.

With 19-inch new alloy wheel design, the rear end will also feature a remodeled tailgate meshed with new sharp LED tail lights and a new rear bumper as well. Hyundai has connected both of these tail lights with a single LED light bar to make it look exquisite. A rear diffuser, plastic claddings on the bumpers and wheel arches compile the overall SUV design.
The newly spotted test mule was seen fitted with a radar module at the front end which embraced the ADAS (Advanced Driver's Assistance System) technology equipment. This means that Hyundai will offer the autonomous driver aid tech on the newly updated Tucson. ADAS tech will bring features such as automatic brake assist, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, etc.
The new car is also anticipated to feature a big twin-screen infotainment display, digital instrument console, panoramic sunroof, BOSE surround sound music system, ambient lighting, etc. to provide a comfortable and luxurious experience for the new customers.
2022 Tucson Engine & Performance
The current generation Tucson is offered with a 2.0-Lt, turbo-petrol engine which produces a peak power of 155 bhp & a peak torque of 192 Nm. The gearbox used is a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Globally the new Tucson is offered with a 1.6-Lt, TGDi turbo-petrol, 2.0-Lt turbo-diesel engine options. The transmission used is a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Indian version might also be offered with the same engine options. While the petrol engine will make it to the launch first, we also expect that Hyundai might later introduce the diesel engine as well.

New Tucson Launch, Price & Rivals
The newly updated Tucson is all set to make it to the Indian market by mid-2022. Once launched it'll directly compete with the likes of Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircorss mid-size luxury SUVs. We expect the price of the new Tucson to be around Rs 23-28 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
