2026 Hyundai Verna Spotted

The Hyundai Verna facelift has been spied testing recently. The biggest talking point from the latest spy shots is the new curved dual-screen setup on the dashboard, which seems inspired by the new Venue. Unlike the current Vernas two separate 10.25-inch displays, the new unit appears to be a single curved panel housing both the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system. Another noticeable update is the new D-cut steering wheel, which seems borrowed from the new Venue as well, with multifunction controls neatly laid out for convenience. However, lower trims might get continue with the same steering wheel as current model, but the top-spec variants could offer additional controls for ADAS and infotainment functions.

No doubt, the Hyundai Verna remains one of the safest sedans in the segment with a 5-star rating in the GNCAP. Hyundai might add some new level 2 ADAS features to the Verna's safety package in this facelift. Though, as of now level 2 package comes loaded with lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.
Powertrains
Under the hood, Hyundai is expected to carry forward the existing engine lineup. That means the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or an IVT. For enthusiasts, the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will likely continue to deliver 160 PS and 253 Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

Verdict
Given the demand for small urban cars and improving EV infrastructure, there is good scope for new models under the Rs 10 lakh bracket. The Leapmotor T03 might not be the most striking EV, but it ticks all the right boxes as a solution for urban mobility.
