BREAKING: Innova Hycross-Based Maruti MPV Christened 'INVICTO'

Get ready to welcome the Maruti MPV based on Innova Hycross with the moniker 'Invicto'. Yes, setting aside the earlier 'Engage' tag, the carmaker has zeroed in on a fancier name. Maruti Invicto - The Hycross Within

Forget Maruti Engage as the Invicto is the new terminology for the Hycross sister. The 5th July launch will mark the entry of a premium MPV from Maruti Suzuki, which will also be the most expensive flagship offering by the brand. It will be living under the NEXA roofs till customers take it home.

Also, Just recently, after the grille design leaks, the Maruti 'Invicto' has been spotted in the flesh, and it looks sharper than the Hycross. It gets a revised bumper and fresh headlamp design with most likely a 3-pod DRL to sit in line with the NEXA statement.

Coming to the features, it is expected to be a completely borrowed list from the Innova Hycross. It includes cruise control, ventilated seats, a powered driver seat, ADAS tech, automatic climate control, a powered tailgate, automatic headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, and much more. In terms of safety onboard, it is pretty much sorted and includes Toyotas Safety Sense (ADAS), 6 Airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, TPMS, etc.

Powertrain

You can expect the new Maruti MPV to share the same powertrain options as the Toyota Innova Hycross. This includes the 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 173hp and a hybrid that puts out 183hp. These engines are either mated to a CVT or e-CVT gearbox.

Launch

Although the spy shots reveal the complete looks, the official launch is slated for July 5, 2023.

VERDICT- Since the new Maruti MPV is the same Innova Hycross inside, it will be offered in a petrol-only version. This also stands in line with Maruti's decision to root out diesel completely from its lineup.
