MG Windsor EV Pro Deliveries Begin

JSW MG Motor India recently rolled out the highly anticipated long-range Windsor EV Pro, initially priced at Rs 17.5 lakh for early buyers. However, with the introductory offer limited to the first 8,000 bookings, the electric vehicle now carries a revised starting price of Rs 18.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Post its overwhelming launch, the new MG Windsor EV Pro has started reaching showrooms across the country and the deliveries are now underway. Customers can either opt for the outright price or avail the model under the BaaS program, where it will cost Rs. 13.10 lakh (Rs. 4.5 per kilometre).

The Windsor EV Pro brings a refreshed look and added tech to MG's electric lineup. It debuts with three new paint options, Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red, along with striking 18-inch dual-tone machined alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin now features a more upmarket Ivory and Black dual-tone theme. The Pro variant steps up on both safety and convenience, boasting Level 2 ADAS with 12 key functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Bend Cruise Assistance, all offering layered alerts via sound, visuals, and haptic feedback. Additional highlights include a powered tailgate, Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Vehicle charging capabilities, and existing comforts like the signature Aero lounge seats, a massive 15.6-inch infotainment screen with wireless smartphone connectivity, and a panoramic Infinity Glass Roof.

Bigger Battery, More Range

Less than a year after the Windsor EV's debut, JSW-MG Motor India has introduced a new top-spec variant with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack. This new Pro version is rated for a claimed range of 449 km on a single charge and produces 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Along with the upgraded battery, the model now supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities, enhancing its practicality. This enhanced battery option is exclusive to the fully loaded Essence PRO variant only.

Verdict

The bigger battery and the inclusion of ADAS makes the popular EV, even more appealing than ever before. Looking at the sales number and the kind of traction that it is having, especially comparing it to the comprehensive Tata EV portfolio, it seems like we are going to have a new EV best-seller soon. However, the lower upfront cost with the Baas plan and a bigger footprint is what makes this an instant hit with the masses. but if you are someone who clocks big numbers on odometer, its the one time payment plan that will be more economcial for you.
