Renault Kiger India Launch On 15th February - Bookings Open; Production Begins

Renault is all set to launch its first sub-4-metre compact SUV in the Indian market soon. The all-new Renault Kiger recently made its World Premiere in India and now the company has revealed the launch date of the same. The new Renault Kiger will be launched in India on February 15, 2021. Let's have a look at some of the main highlights of the upcoming Renault Kiger.

Engine and Transmission Options

The upcoming Renault Kiger will share its underpinnings and mechanicals with its cousin, Nissan Magnite. Both these new sub-compact SUVs get two petrol engine options. However, while the Nissan Magnite gets only two different transmission options, the Kiger will offer three. It will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This petrol motor will churn out 72 PS of maximum power and 96 Nm of peak torque.

The upcoming Renault Kiger will also get an all-new BS6 compliant 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This turbo petrol motor will churn out 100 PS of maximum power and 160 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and while the naturally-aspirated petrol motor will get an optional AMT, the turbo petrol will get a CVT. The ARAI-claimed mileage figures of these engines haven't been revealed yet.

Looks and Colour Options

The Renault Kiger is a funky compact crossover. It gets unique modern-day elements and will surely appeal to the masses. If we talk about the colour options, so the Kiger will be available in six different colour shades in the Indian market. They are Mahogany Brown, Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Grey, Caspian Blue and Radiant Red (available only in top-spec variant). All the colour shades will be available as a dual-tone option with Mystery Black roof while the dual-tone Radiant Red colour will get a glossy Black roof. Launch Date and Expected Price

Renault has just announced the launch date of the Kiger and it will be officially launched in India on February 15, 2021. The production of the Kiger has already commenced at the company's Chennai plant and the unofficial bookings are also open at select Renault dealerships across the country.
