Skoda Kushaq
This compact SUV, built on the MQB-AO-IN platform, is known for its build quality, superior driving dynamics, European design, and well-engineered engine options. Despite all these good traits, its sales are the lowest in the segment, which is currently the hottest-selling segment, with cars like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos ruling it. Auto experts and netizens say it lacks features and doesn't have a bold front like its rivals, which reminisce of bigger SUVs.

It seems that Skoda is finally responding to customer demands and addressing the key reasons why the Kushaq hasn't been performing as expected in the market. Recent spy shots reveal that the Kushaq facelift will feature a panoramic sunroof, a much-requested addition. Other upgrades we can anticipate include a 360-degree parking camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and front parking sensors. However, we're cautious about mentioning ADAS for now, as the spy shots don't show any radar sensors, nor do they suggest the presence of this technology. But Skoda might just bring it.

To add to that, like every other facelift, this car will also feature a new set of headlights, a revised grille, and a refreshed bumper. Other expected changes include a revamped dashboard design, new interior upholstery, and a few additional upgrades.

Verdict
The dry phase in the Indian auto industry doesn't seem to be ending, as people aren't buying cars like they did last year, despite dealers offering attractive discounts on almost every vehicle. One of the key reasons for this is the uncertainty among buyers regarding fuel options, concerns over electric vehicle range, and the looming depletion of diesel. Additionally, the ethanol blend in petrol is dropping the mileage of cars that aren't compatible with the 20% ethanol mix. With so many questions and so few answers, let's hope the festive season brings more footfalls to dealerships across India.
