In a worldwide announcement, Toyota stated that a different procedure was employed to measure horsepower output during testing. The certification testing utilized Electronic Control Units (ECU) paired with software different from the one employed in mass production. This was done to ensure that the results could be measured to create smoother values with fewer variations.
