As can be seen, the new Glanza will only be offered in a single 1.2-litre, DualJet petrol motor. This engine churns out 89 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 113 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and will get an optional AMT. The stick shift delivers 22.3 kmpl whereas the AMT gets an ARAI certified mileage of 22.94 kmpl.

On the other hand, Hyundai i20 delivers 21 kmpl for the MT from its 1.2L motor and 19.65 kmpl with the CVT. Its more powerful, 1.0L motor returns an ARAI certified economy of 20 kmpl with the iMT and 20.28 kmpl with the 7-speed DCT.

Tata Altroz is one of the safest premium hatchbacks as it scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash test, however, it is not the most fuel-efficient. The 1.2L naturally aspirated motor of the Altroz returns an ARAI certified economy of 19.05 kmpl and the 1.2L iTurbo delivers 18.11 kmpl. Tata Altroz only gets a 5-speed stick shift as of now but soon a DCA (dual-clutch automatic) transmission will be paired to the 1.2L NA motor.
