Citroen C3X Crossover Sedan - What the Spy Shots Unveil?

The C3X marks Citroen's third foray into the Indian market with the innovative CMP modular platform, following the anticipated launches of the C3 hatchback and the C3 Aircross SUV next month.

Recently leaked images captured this test mule navigating the Spanish roads, still in its experimental phase. Despite being shrouded in heavy camouflage, certain distinctive features managed to peek through the disguise. These spy shots hint at the C3X adopting some SUV-inspired elements, including a ground clearance reminiscent of the C3 Aircross, generously sized alloy wheels, and a rugged-looking plastic cladding enveloping its exterior. In terms of dimensions, expect the C3X to measure around 4.3-4.4 meters in length, likely sharing its wheelbase with the C3 Aircross SUV.

As per a recent report, the upcoming C3X crossover sedan, which is likely to bear the moniker Citroen C3X or C3 Fastlounge, is poised to share certain design elements with its sibling, the C3 Aircross SUV. If we focus on the front end, encompassing the bonnet, front fenders, and even the front doors, you'll find a striking resemblance to the C3 Aircross SUV. However, the plot takes a captivating twist beyond the rear doors; here, it veers into uncharted territory, boasting a completely unique design that gracefully tapers down, embracing a sleek roofline, thus bestowing the vehicle with a captivating four-door fastback-like silhouette.

Familiar Power Under the Hood

The heart of this new Citroen C3 variant will share its powertrain with its fellow C3 models  a robust 110hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which can be paired with either a manual transmission or, for those who prefer an effortless ride, an automatic gearbox. Additionally, Citroen is set to work on an electric version, akin to the well-received eC3, and this electrifying journey continues with the upcoming eC3 Aircross, already in the works.
