Maruti Victoris: Strong Demand Even Before Price Announcement

As per high-ranking officials from the brand, Maruti Victoris has received an overwhelming response from customers despite the company not disclosing its pricing strategy yet. For now, bookings are open only for the ZXI MT variant, with other trims to be made available once the prices are out. Interested buyers can reserve their Victoris for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Built on the Global C platform that also underpins the Grand Vitara, the Victoris gets its own distinctive design language. It sports LED projector headlamps, connected LED taillamps, aero-cut alloy wheels, and comes in 10 colour options, including three dual-tone finishes, and will be the flagship model from Arena as a Creta rival.
Tech & Features

The Victoris brings in several segment-firsts for Maruti. It is the first Maruti Suzuki model to feature Level-2 ADAS with functions like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and automatic emergency braking. It also debuts Dolby Atmos audio via an 8-speaker Infinity by Harman system. Other highlights include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, gesture-controlled powered tailgate, Alexa integration, panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, and over 60 connected car features via Suzuki Connect.
5 Star BNCAP Rating In The Bag Before Launch

On the safety front, the Victoris has become Maruti's second car to score a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP, after the Dzire. It achieved 31.66/32 in adult safety and 43/49 in child safety. Standard safety kit includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold assist, and seatbelt reminders, while higher trims get ADAS, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, and more.

Powertrain Options
Maruti will offer the Victoris with three engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre petrol-CNG, and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and e-CVT, along with an optional ALLGRIP Select all-wheel drive for the petrol automatic variant. Notably, the CNG variant features an underbody tank layout, a first for Maruti's CNG models.
The Victoris enters a hotly contested segment, where it will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and others. With its extensive feature list, hybrid tech, CNG option, and solid safety credentials, the Victoris is expected to strengthen Maruti's position in the mid-size SUV market.
Verdict
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is shaping up to be one of the brand's most ambitious SUVs to date, combining modern styling, multiple powertrain options and segment-leading technology for its Arena portfolio. With customer interest already strong ahead of the price reveal, all eyes are now on September 15 to see how aggressively Maruti positions the Victoris. If priced competitively, the SUV could emerge as a serious challenger in India's most crowded SUV segment and could even challenge its own sibling, the Maruti Grand Vitara.
