MG Hector Shine Variant To Launch On August 12 - What To Expect?

MG Motors made its Indian debut with the MG Hector mid-size SUV and it became an instant hit. The Hector is the best-selling MG car in India and so the company keeps updating it from time to time to make it look fresh. Just a few months ago, the company launched the facelifted Hector which was followed by the launch of its new CVT version. Now, MG Motor India is all set to launch the new Shine variant of the Hector. Here are all the details.

MG Hector Shine - What To Expect?

MG Hector is currently available in four trim levels. They are - Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. Now, the company will be launching a new Shine variant of the SUV which is rumoured to slot between the Super and Smart variants of the SUV. The upcoming new MG Hector Shine variant will pack in a lot of goodies, including a new electric sunroof. The Hector Shine variant will be the only trim in the Hector line-up to get a regular sunroof instead of the massive panoramic ones offered on its top-spec trims. The upcoming new Hector Shine also won't get any major cosmetic or mechanical updates.

MG Hector Shine - Engine Specifications

MG Hector's new Shine variant will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This motor churns out 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Its petrol engine is available with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system too. The non-hybrid petrol motor comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed DCT while the petrol hybrid motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The Hector Shine will also get the same BS6 compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The oil-burner mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only.

Launch Date, Price and Rivals

MG Motor India has now officially confirmed that the upcoming new Shine variant of the MG Hector mid-size SUV will be launched in India on August 12, 2021. The new MG Hector Facelift is currently priced between Rs 13.50 lakhs - Rs 19.21 lakhs and its upcoming Shine variant might be priced from Rs 15.99 lakhs. All the prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
