Renault Kwid EV Spotted Testing; Details
The Kwid EV is also sold as the Dacia Spring globally, which is built on the CMF-EA platform; derived off of the same CMF-A platform that underpins the combustion-powered Kwid. Visually, it seems to borrow a lot of its design elements from the new Duster, which is also India-bound sometime soon. The closed-off nose, slim DRLs, and the headlamps placed below appear familiar and more like an evolution of the current ICE Kwid.
A glimpse of the new interiors can be seen, which features a larger 10.1-inch HD infotainment screen with a new user interface. Also visible is a very small hint of the new 7-inch digital instrument cluster with customizable themes, the new steering wheel, and a dual-dashcam from Kenwood, which is part of the accessories suite on the global-spec Spring. This feature could likely be offered in the final India-spec car as well, as the Tata Tiago EV also gets it.

The Kwid EV will be come with a single, front-wheel driven motor, which comes with two configurations globally. The base spec produces 44.2bhp and 125Nm of torque, while the higher specs come with 64.3bhp and 113Nm of torque. Both configurations reach a claimed top speed of 125kmph. Backed by a 26.8kWh battery pack, the Kwid EV comes with a claimed range figure between 225km to 305km on a single charge.
The combustion-powered Kwid is unlikely to get the same set of visual or interior updates, but there is a slim chance given that the Kiger and Triber facelifts were also launched recently.
Verdict
The Kwid EV is likely to be the next thing from Renault India, possibly coming around early 2026. This will be among the few entry-level EVs in India, and it will compete against the Tata Tiago EV.
