Electric vehicles (EV) are believed to be the future of mobility due to their sophisticated features and eco-friendly characteristics. EVs have great potential to act as an alternative to internal combustion vehicles as they contribute nothing towards the rising carbon footprint. Many automakers have already stepped into creating newer technology that can assist electric vehicles in presenting better driveability. One such automaker that has rolled up its sleeves to step into the EV game is Tata Motors India.
Tata Motors has been a pioneer in making best-in-class electric cars for India. The Nexon EV is one of their best-selling electric vehicles which is manufactured indigenously. The Tata Nexon EV has been faring quite well in terms of sales according to few sources and the details presented by Tata Motors.

As a matter of fact, Tata mentioned that the demand for its Nexon EV has been as high as its diesel counterpart- The Tata Nexon Diesel. PB Balaji, Chief Finance Officer of Tata Motors India had recently mentioned that the sales of the Nexon EV have been almost similar in the number of bookings when compared to Nexon Diesel, its counterpart. He also mentioned that the increase in demand for the Tata Nexon EV is all thanks to the Subsidies provided by the Indian Government as well as the FAME-II benefits.
In addition to all this, Tata Motors India is expecting a 5 percent share for the Nexon EV in its total sales volume. As per the recent reports, 650 units of the Tata Nexon EV have been already sold since July 2021. As of now, the Nexon EV has a 71 percent share in the electric vehicle segment and has clocked a sale of 1,716 units in the first quarter of the current financial year.
About Tata Nexon EV:
The Nexon EV has a Magnet DC powertrain that churns out 127 PS of peak power and 245Nm of potential torque output figure. The juice for the engine is received from a 30.2kWh, high voltage lithium-ion battery setup. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 Kmph in just 9.58 seconds.
Price of Tata Nexon EV:
That Tata Nexon EV comes at a price of Rs.13,99,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Also, a dark edition of the Nexon EV has been launched at Rs.16.78 Lakh.
